Ganderbal, Mar 07 (KNO): The residents of Shuhama area in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district Wednesday complained of inadequate healthcare facilities at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Shuhama. The locals while talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the dispensary was established in 1990 in Shuhama, located three kilometres from Nagbal. They said that the dispensary got the status of Primary Health centre (PHC) in 1992. However, more than 30 years after being declared as PHC, the locals living nearby to the health facility are being forced to visit other hospitals, especially in Srinagar as the lack of facilities are pushing the patients to the wall. Zahor Ahmed, a local resident said: "Even the PHC lacks an ambulance. Besides, there is no USG facility, medical specialists.” In this regard, the top health authorities were informed several times, but the issues have not been redressed, the residents said and appealed Lieutenant Governor led administration to intervene and ensure that the genuine demands of people are fulfilled at earliest—(KNO)
